Time flies when you are having fun! We have been running crazy! Pea started back to school. We have had piano lessons, guitar lessons, soccer started back, band practice, etc. My sewing machine saw quite a little break. I hadn't sewn anything, apart from making a couple outfits for Pea's back to school, until today. I had a custom order and made the cutest outfit. I think Pea was jealous, she put her order in for one like it as soon as I finshed it. It is a zebra print and floral pink peasant top with decoupaged ruffle jeans to match. Very boutique and trendy! I'll post some pics soon. Hope all is well with everyone. I am going to try and post here more regularly now that I am back at it again. Thanks everyone for the Pony-o ebook sales. Well it has been a long while, sorry! Since Pea finished school we have been running from one activity to another. So far we have done 2 weeks of swimming lessons. This was Roo's first year and she did great, even passed her level! Pea passed her level also and even jumped off the high dive. I was so proud of her! We also did 2 weeks of VBS at a couple of different churches, lots of fun. I have been lax on the personal creative front but I have been doing a lot of embroidery and jewelry orders. Thanks to everyone for your orders! The new lowercase stamped jewelry is really popular. Hope everyone is enjoying the summer days!

Wow.....been a while. That is a recurring theme here lately. Sorry! This past month has only continued the busy trend and I see no end in sight. Thankfully it has been a good kind of busy. We have had the daddy/daughter dance, a hockey reunion, snow and more snow, Valentine's day, Pea pulling her front tooth, and a school talent show.

Pea decided that this year she wanted a store bought dress for the dance. At first my feelings were hurt, but we had a good time finding her perfect dress. She looked so big! Roo and I had our own date that night. We went to a legends game at our hockey arena. Back to the good ole days. We had a blast! It was great to see all the guys!

Pea pulled her own front tooth a couple nights before she was to sing in her school talent show. I was a little worried she may have trouble singing but she was great! It is so cute, she looks so mischevious now. I am very proud of her, only 15 kids were picked to be in the show. They had to try-out to secure their spot. I was very surprised she even wanted to participate. She wound up singing Tomorrow from Annie. I was happy she liked the song, I sang it in my Kindergarten graduation. It was so great to hear her sing it, too! She decided that she wanted a dress just like Annie's so the day before the show I sewed 7 hours straight to make it happen. It turned out wonderful and is probably one of the best and most complicated things I have made. Whewww...now off to rest for a little while. Soccer is starting back up and many other new and exciting opportunities are as well. Here's to a great Spring!

Wow! It has been a crazy, busy, and fun month around here. I have been making lots of goodies, and I forgot to take pics of half of them. :) I made personalized Christmas ornaments for all of Pea's class. They turned out fantastic. I even made some for our tree and some for my family. I also made some Nativity glass blocks. Pea was very upset that I made the first one for Nana and she immediately had me make one for our house. I also made some vinyl monogrammed animal print coasters and some hurricane votive holders. I love working with vinyl! I have been busy embroidering, too. One of my coolest new personalization options is with rhinestones. I have blinged a couple of sweatshirts and shirts for the girls. They were so cute. I hope that y'all had a wonderful Christmas!

I hope everyone had a fantastic Thanksgiving. We had a great time despite Nana's attempt to try and end up at the ER with a finger wound from chopping celery. I actually had a near faint after attending to her finger. Never done that before, but all was well and I ate WAY too much cornbread dressing ie: the last photo is one of the mondo pans she made! My fav! I'll be adding photo's of all the cool things I have been making in the next few days. We are decorating for Christmas and enjoying Jas' time off with us this week. I have been neglectful of the blog and have been really creative behind the scenes.

Fall festival and Halloween

Pea wanted to be The Little Mermaid and Roo wanted to be a Pumpkin this Halloween. I searched for an Ariel pattern that I liked and could never find one so I winged it. After much trial and error and hair pulling I finally figured it out and was happy with it. Pea loved it. Thankfully I was done with both their costumes weeks ago so I only had to find accessories. The Fall Festival at Pea's school was great and although trick or treatin was really damp, it was fun! Luckily Jas had borrowed Buggas golf cart so we were protected a good bit. Nana and PauPau passed out our candy while we were gone. They had me whip up some punkin shirts for them since Roo wanted them to be punkins too. Hope everyone had a Happy Halloween!

Dawg Day...

PauPau has re-energized our love for the Dawgs. The girls love to watch them play and even reenact their own games on the living room floor. Too funny! About a month ago there was a craft fair in our town, it was about 200 degrees and humid as rip but we all had our dawg gear on so we had to get some pics. Pardon my bouffant hairdon't. :)

What a milestone....my sweet little Pea lost her first tooth on 9-8-09. We had been working on making it looser for a couple of days and it finally gave way. Actually it was an accident that it was pulled. Pea kept on at me to help loosen it and as I was it came out. I felt really bad, I wanted her to be able to pull it. In fact I had not even made a tooth fairy pillow yet. So at 9:oo that night she designed a pillow and I got busy and made it happen in about 45 minutes. It's not the best but it was great in a pinch. I'll be making her a better one soon. Sweet Snaggletooth Pea!

This past week has been very crazy and dramatic. I am exhausted and grateful that things have turned around. Roo had started spiking a fever last Sun. so I took her to the ped. on Mon and got antibiotics and went on our merry way. That night she spiked 104 with medicine and we went to the ER. 4 hours later...sitting in the ER, spiking fevers, watching sick people have seizures, it was crazy, we got to see the doc who gave her motrin and an antibiotic shot. We got home about 3 am, Jas took Pea to school and the ped. called and said to bring Roo in since she was still having spiking fevers even with medicine. We went to the ped. and Roo spiked 103.7 in her office, needless to say we were sent to the hospital. It was crazy and scary. Roo was miserable, clingy, and dare I say... "off the chain" grumpy. I had no sleep 2 days straight. She was put on an IV and they tried to keep a handle on her fever which at one point freaked them out at 103.7 auxillary again. It came down finally. Turns out it was some nasty virus and not the flu. Thankfully her chest xray and bloodwork looked good. The icing on the cake was when the school called on Wed. to say that Pea threw up at school and we needed to come get her. Luckily Nana had been staying with her and went to get her. Jas also left the hospital to go to check on her. I was majorly overwhelmed and scared. Pea was fine and didn't throw up anymore after that. Jas came back to the hospital and later that afternoon Roo was good enough to be discharged. She got to take the red wagon out of the hospital and she loved it. She broke out in a rash on Thursday so I am thinking she had a severe case of Roseola. Wow! Thankfully after a few days rest, all of us feel better again. Crazy that something so run of the mill could cause such chaos. I guess the Lord was teaching me not to take things for granted. I am praying for all the families that are still in the hospital with sick loved ones. ***update: It turns out it was not Roseola, just some mean virus. Crazy! I say it's probably the flu's black sheep cousin!

Kitschy Bull Dress

I bought this bull fabric a while ago and have been saving it for the perfect outfit. I mixed it with some polka dot pique I had on hand. I made a ruffle neck dress with it and it is one of my favorite things I have ever made. I love the kitschy bulls, they are so funny. I wish I had more of this fabric. Pea wore this to school the other day.

We all accompanied Jas to the driving range the other morning. A last hoorah before school started back. Pea has her own set of golf clubs and really enjoys going there. Roo has a plastic set that she took. It was a nice time. I even dusted off my old skills and hit a little. It really is a great way to unwind, I just need to learn not to try and knock the fool out of it. :) Once I eased up I started doing well. Albeit sore for a few days later. :)

Goodness, how this summer flew by! It had to be one of the most enjoyable yet. Lots of time spent with my girls and many sweet memories made. Alas now Pea is a first grader and she has been so excited. I loved that at Sneak a Peek she walked in her room, sat down in her desk, and proceeded to read the books her teacher had just given her. It's like she never even left. :) I am so proud of her. Here are some pics of her from Sneak a Peek and from her first day of 1st. I loved making her outfits and she has graduated from bows to headbands. She looks so grown in them. I was up last night making one for school today. She really loves them.

I can't believe that school starts back in 9 days. This summer has flown by. I am in the process of making bows and goodies for back to school. Life is hard sometimes and this past month and a half has been that. I haven't mentioned it until now. We lost a big piece of our family on June 9th. Our beloved Pepper became an angel. It was so sudden and we were blessed with almost 14 years with her. She was more than just a dog/pet. She was family. I find myself walking by the door and seeing her there, I hear her, I smell her. I have to stop myself from saving the leftovers for her, steak still gets to me when I see the little morsels left. I am glad that the girls are pretty unaffected, Me....well that is another story. God Bless you sweet Pep, thank you for all the love you gave all those years! I miss you so!

We had planned to go to Pea's field day but it was cancelled due to the weather. Unfortunately when we went to pick her up at the end of the day we found out they did have an abbreviated version of it. I was very disappointed that we missed it. Jas was too, he had taken the day off for it. So to make the best of the day we took her to get some icecream. She was so sweet and very upset that it was her last day of school. She cried about having to leave her teachers. I have to admit I got a little misty myself. I LOVED her teachers this year! And if you couldn't tell, that is Jas and he has decided to become a lumberjack. :)

The Pea graduated from Kindergarten. We are so proud of her. She received many awards. She got the Reading award and the Art award for her class. I always said she was my little artist and it was such a surprise and wonderful accomplishment for her to receive that recognition. I can't believe she is so grown. I am so blessed and love her so much. She makes me so proud. Nana and PauPau, Bugga and Deda, and Aunt Sue came to her graduation celebration at school. Sweet little 1st grader Pea.

Pea and Roo attended a butterfly birthday party last weekend. They had so much fun. They decorated cookies and went to see the butterflies. A butterfly even landed on Pea's bow. You can see it as it is flying away above. I am also told I had one on my head.....yes, you did read that correctly. I am sure that comes as a shock to most of the people who know me well. I do not care for butterflies and in my younger days I was.... deathly afraid of them. Yes, screaming, running away...freaking out..you get the picture. I realize that being afraid of butterflies is very strange and irrational, but I am really not fond of flying things. Ask Nana about the bird geting in the house. :) Anyway as I have gotten older my butterfly phobia has waned, thankfully. Here are some pics of our fun day.

Mother's day Dresses...

Here are the Mother's Day dresses I made for the girls....only they didn't wear them on Mother's day. We were going to put them on after lunch but we played in the yard instead. So they wore them the day after Mother's day. It was a really fun time. It was definitely memorable.... I took Nana shopping while Jas and PauPau kept the girls and Jas decided to spray all my gorgeous, prize, special, etc... roses (anyone see where this is going yet?) to keep them from getting black spot. I happened to glance in the trash can when I got home and saw a empty bottle of BRUSH KILLER, hmmmmm....so I asked Jas why it was in there. He was freaking, I figured pulling a fast one on me... to be funny, but then reality set in. He almost turned pale when he realized what he did. I have to tell the truth...I went Nutso, Crazy. I could not believe that he didn't read the label to check to see what he was spraying on them. Not two weeks ago everyone who came to Pea's party were raving on how my prize rose was the most beautiful, huge rose they had seen. I LOVED that rose, it was old, huge and special and to have it ..Butchered..on Mother's Day was too much for me. I got the girls to bed and had to go take a bath and just be alone for a while. I was very upset. Jas went out and proceeded to CHOP them all down, no leaves, just sticks in the hopes that MAYBE they wouldn't all die. I literally almost got sick the next morning when I left and saw their little nubs that were left and all the gorgeousness in a pile on the ground dying. It was a touchy subject around here for a couple of days. :) Thankfully now, I am O.K. about it, still sad but it will be alright. I was just very proud of them and we had planted them when we first moved in our house and they reminded me of that special time as newlyweds and all. We have since resorted to making wise cracks and joking about it and he will never live it down I am sure. But Hey... at least they won't get black spot NOW! :)

It has been busy around here lately. I can't believe my sweet pea is going to be a first grader in one week. They have had many school activities lately and it seems like this year has flown by. I am really going to miss her fantastic teachers. They are so wonderful and she has had the best year! She had a reading celebration on Friday and Roo and I went and had lots of fun. Pea was picked as the star reader for her class. I am so proud of her.

We took the girls to the big local egg hunt today. What beautiful weather it was. We even ran into Aunt Sue and all her fam while we were there. Roo got about 3 eggs, it was crazy out there with her. Pea did well, she got many more. Her favorite part was the huge inflatable slide she rode so many times I lost count. Roo was quite upset that she couldn't ride it. I loved the little shirts I made them so I whipped up some pants to go with them. It is so fun to be able to do that. I am glad they like when I do.

Early Easter present...

We gave the girls their Easter present from us early so they could enjoy it. It is a crabby sandbox. It has been all Roo has wanted to do. I have wanting to get them one for a long time. It has been so nice outside we have been having picnics and playing the last couple of days.

Yesterday was Pea's 6th birthday. I can't believe that time has gone by so fast. She is such a sweet, precious girl and I am so proud to be her mommy! The patience that she has with Roo is unreal. I hope that their relationship continues to be the way it is now. It is so sweet to see them together. Pea had a friend's birthday party to attend and it was at the bowling alley. What a cool place to have a party. She had so much fun and I did too. I got talked into a game with friends and started off with 2 strikes in a row. It was unreal. I had 4 throughout the game. It was a riot to play after so many years. I had no idea about the disc problems..I just played through the weird sensations...or I wouldn't have been doing that, but it was nice to have such a good game and fun!

Egg Hunt at school

Pea had an egg hunt at school so Roo and I helped out hiding the eggs. They also let Roo join in hunting them. They had a great time and I am so glad I was able to attend. Nana was going to go in my place as I made an early morning trip to the ER. My legs were still feeling weak and weird. Luckily we got out in time and I pushed through and made it. We have since found out my problem is with the discs in my back and luckily not lyme. I had an EMG test on Friday. I don't think I'll ever be able to listen to Journey the same way again. It was playing through the worst part of the test. I am relieved to know what was going on and thankfully every day I get more strength back in them.

Please excuse my absence. This past month has been crazy! It started with a sinus infection then a mean virus with an antibiotic reaction, the sudden death of my cousin, Pea's soccer started, numerous birthday parties and as the icing on the cake...I am appalled to say, on Sunday, I discovered two tick bites that I get to take antibiotics for to stave off lyme. Nice. I still haven't figured that one out yet. It's not like I have been traipsing through the forest lately. Anyway....it seems like everyone is going through something right now. I am digging what Angie and Jennifer say here. It has really helped put things in perspective.

Snow day 2009

We had some crazy weather the last couple of days. On Friday and Saturday it was 70 degrees and tornadoes were all around, then yesterday we had 6 inches of snow. It was unreal! Thunder snow even. We all had a fantastic time in the snow yesterday and today! Pea's school was closed today, so she was super excited. Almost all the snow is gone now, it melted this afternoon. It was fun while it lasted!

Winter Break

The Pea was off for Winter Break last week and we planned a trip to Stone Mountain to go snow tubing. It looked as if we would not be able to go as the girls and Jas were sick but thankfully they were well in time. They shared the germies with me, so I was the only sick one. :) What mommies do for their babies. I ended up having to go to the doc and get a shot when we got back. But we did have a great time, here are some pics.

Pea had her Valentine's party at school yesterday. I love all the Valentine's she brought home from her friends. Precious! We will add some more to them as much fun is planned today. Slumber Party

This weekend started off with a bang. Jas and I rushed Roo down to the after hours pediatrician on Friday night with the Croup. What fun it always is. Nana and Pau-Pau, ever our fantastic/ emergency/all the time/ wonderful babysitters, came and kept Pea for us so we wouldn't have to expose her to all the germies there. We didn't get home until VERY late and Pea was not happy about Roo sleeping in our room and leaving her all alone, so we had a slumber party. Roo was so funny in her pack n play, I felt like I was in a Walton's episode. She kept saying good night to everyone repeatedly, that pedipred they gave her really winds her up. :) Above are some pics of them this morning snuggled in Pea's cot.

Tada! I have been working on a blog redo and here it is, I am also working on the boutique website but am a little worried as to how the CPSIA issues are going to turn out. I hope that I don't have to stop making my goodies to sell. If you read my last post you have probably figured out why I have been absent as of late. 2009! It's going to be a great one, it has to be! :) I spent New Year's Eve cleaning the house and at midnight you would have found me snug asleep in my cozy bed recuperating from the last weeks of 2008! Ha! That is so sad sounding. I am ashamed of myself. I should have been more interesting. I am excited about this New Year! Lots of changes all around for the better. This has been one of the busiest, hectic, crazy, etc. holiday's I have ever experienced in my life. My shopping was of course last minute, I was monogramming up to the last second and beyond and Jas' grandmother passed away and her funeral was on Christmas Eve. All kinds of holiday festivities......I literally have never felt so bombarded in all my life. But Thank the good Lord we made it through and things are calming down now! Whew....

Christmas parade

We had a great time at the Christmas parade, the girls got to don their tutus again. I just love that parade it gets me in the Christmas spirit every year! We had quite the turnout. Nana and PauPau came out even though Nana was sick. Thanks Nana! Aunt Mel and her whole family came out. Uncle Andy, K and the twinsies, AA and J and the girls, and Mrs. Barbara and Mr. Jim. Even De-da came. It was a lot of fun. I know Jennifer and I had as much fun as the girls did. Maybe more... Apart from getting beaned in the head with a football by rude little cub scouts. I was unfazed until they began staring and laughing, punching each other thinking it was funny they about knocked my lights out. I'm just glad it wasn't one of the kids. They would have been seriously injured by the impact. :) For a minute I didn't know what was going on and I saw stars! I hope those little jokers got scared straight by my little heart to heart. Jas said they probably had nightmares that night about me. Good I say! :)

Christmas Recital

:) After waiting about an hour and 15 minutes the other night we finally were able to go see the lights. Nana and PauPau went with us and we all had a fantastic, crazy time. I drove through them for the first time this year. Jas refused to do it this year, he always drives. I have to say this was the best time I've had going through them, we had many laughs. Like when I yelled Merry Christmas out the window to the passing trolley and scarred all of the people for life. Usually they exchange revelries with you. Nope....Nana said they all had scary looks on their faces as they passed by her window in the back seat. It was hilarious! That and Jas hanging out the sunroof trying to take pictures with his stomach in PauPaus head and his hind quarters in Nana's face. I swear we were the Griswolds. :) Roo LOVED the lights, it was the first year she was interested. Pea had a great time frolicking with the costume characters...Roo..not so much, no animatronics or costumed folks for her! Bother me...she says as she high tails it in the other direction. They did visit Santa...Roo was not having it...until.....Santa had candy...then he was her friend, although she has no idea you can eat it. She thinks you just hold it. :) Lucky for me.

The advantages of living amongst Pecan trees. The girls LOVE to pick them up. I'm sure that will change as they get older. :)

Pea loves to eat them, she brings them to me to crack....no competition for eating them. You'd think being a born and bred Georgia girl I would love them. Nope....you can have pecans and collard greens all for yourself. Although I'm told Nana makes the best pecan pie ever! Jas and Pea totally agree! I'll have to take their word for it.

In a little over 12 hours my house will be busy, busy. The smells of yumminess will be in the air. My peeps will arrive and the Thanksgiving feasting will commence. I am enjoying this time before to reflect upon all the things I am grateful for. What a gift and privilege that is. I sincerely hope that you Have a great Thanksgiving! So does Indian Princess Pea. She had a Thanksgiving feast at school complete with Pilgrims and Indians on Tues. and of course I had to make her some Indian pants to go with the vest and hat she made.

Happy Birthday sweet little Roo! We went to My Gym, ate lunch (mackanonni as Roo calls it)with Aunt Mel, the twins, Mrs. Barbara and J., picked up Pea from school and went to get a cupcake at the soda shop here in town. They were out of cupcakes so we improvised with a Whoopie Pie and a gingerbread man cookie. Man, I wanted a Red Velvet cupcake. Probably better off without it, :).

Another milestone was hit today..... FYI pampers...your days of getting my $ are numbered. :) Roo went potty today! Even Pea got into the celebration as we sang and did the potty dance! We were all proud and just so you know little Nilla's make a great potty bribe. :) Keepin it real!

Here are a couple pics of the girls in their Halloween costumes. We had a busy day...a parade and party at school, a party at My Gym, and trick or treating. They were exhausted by the end but had lots of fun. Pea wanted to be Cinderella and I refurbed Pea's ladybug costume so Roo could wear it too. Wow my sewing skills have come a LONG way since back then. :)

Octoberfest

PauPau had Octoberfest at work and invited us. The girls had a ball playing and Jas had his share of German cuisine. They had a slide, a train, and putt-putt. I lost count of how many times Pea did the slide. Roo and I did it ONCE. :) Jas was too full to take her on it and this was also before he had bratwurst for dessert. Pea asked me if they were going to have a Novemberfest too. :)

I had to make them some festive Halloween outfits to wear. I thought they turned out so CUTE. I think they are just BOO-tiful.

Pea's New Bike

In light of her recent accomplishments with her old teeny tiny bike..we took her to town and got her a new one. Of course she got the most tricked out princessy bike they had. A tinkerbell fairies one that has lights and plays music. That, my friends, is in vast contrast from my piranha dirt bike with black and white checkered pads, hand brakes, and trick pegs that I got for my first bike. Granted I was much older than her at the time. And it was after the pink girly bike with the basket that my mom got me first...and took back after she saw how disappointed I was. :) Poor Mom never had a chance with me. :) I LOVED that dirt bike!
I have an incling that Roo is going to be just like me. ;)

Fall Festival

Pea had her Fall Festival at school. She had a blast with all of her friends. We had a pretty good time also! I saw lots of folks from the good ole high school days. :)

Pea had her "hair-did". It was so funny. They painted it hot pink and had pipe cleaners all through it. The topper though was a HUGE peach flower. She had a meltdown when we got home and she couldn't sleep with it. She was beautimous!

My birthday was the 1st of October. Jas and the girls got me a yummy cake. I'm still pondering what I want....but the best present of all was the Pea learned to ride her bicycle with no training wheels. It took her like 10 minutes after Jas took them off and she was doing it on her own. Unreal! That girl is something. I didn't get pics..I was too busy chasing her around taking video. :) My big girl Pea!

She loves Grover off of Sesame Street and calls them her Grover jammies. Pea loved Elmo, but Roo isn't too sure about him. She prefers Cookie and Grover. :)

Roo LOVES forsies. That is Roo-speak for Horsies. We had a little time before meeting Jas for dinner in town so we went and rode the carousel, train and ferris wheel. Roo will ride the train and carousel over and over and over... you get the idea. I think we went through half of our points on our card in an hour. They had mucho fun. :)

I made this shirt a while back. It is the first thing I have ever made for me that I would actually wear. :) I can make kids clothes fantastically...with no problem. But give me a pattern for adults and bad things happen. I have attempted a couple of things for myself but I'm convinced I am alien shaped because they NEVER turn out. I just made up this shirt pattern and was surprised and pleased it turned out so well. I am going to make some more. Excuse the pics. I was trying to take them myself, but you get the idea.

Today was picture day for Pea. I whipped up an ensemble for her. It has to be one of my favorite ever. It is a pillowcase top that ties in the back and some ruffled pants. I LOVE the owl print! I have been saving it for a long time, I couldn't bear to cut it until now. Precious polka dotted Pea!

I wold have gotten some outdoor shots but it was early this morning and looked like it might rain any second.

She also wouldn't oblige me this afternoon. I got the last pic above instead. :) Lovely, I tell ya...just what I was looking for.
